A printed meet sheet is static the moment it comes off the printer. Scratches, relay changes, DQs, results — all of it gets scribbled into the margins by hand, on a clipboard, in the sun, with wet fingers. By the third event the sheet is more edits than original text.

The software built to prevent that problem was built for someone else. Hy-Tek Meet Manager and the rest of that ecosystem run for the meet administrator — at a laptop, indoors, seeding heats and scoring the whole meet. A coach on the deck isn't doing that job. They're tracking a subset of swimmers inside someone else's meet, standing up, moving between events, coaching in the gaps.
