Before you book
Does the time I pick actually reach you?
Yes — the calendar above is my real availability. Picking a slot writes the appointment onto my calendar and emails us both, with the Google Meet link attached. Nothing sits in an inbox waiting for me to notice it.
Is Deck Buddy ready to use?
Not yet. It's a working prototype and it has not been tested at a live meet. The coach deck, the meet sheet, the swimmer popover, tagging and tap-to-place timing are built and you can click through them today. Full testing is planned for late September with version 0.1.A, which adds the coach and swimmer dashboards, the meet sheet and notes. The demo page is honest about which is which.
Does it connect to a timing system?
Not yet — that's a later feature. Today it runs entirely on tap-to-place, which is the case it was built for: hit Start, then tap swimmers' names as they finish and each tap assigns the next heat place. No times, no keyboard, no stopwatch. Reading places, times and touchpad splits straight from a timing system is on the roadmap, after 0.1.A.
What about our existing results?
Hy-Tek Meet Manager programs and results import as PDFs — results either merge onto a loaded program or stand alone as their own meet. Time Drops comes in as pasted heat sheet text, since it has no public feed. Worth bringing a real meet sheet to the call.
Does it cost anything?
Not yet. Pricing doesn't come into effect until full integration — while it's in testing there's nothing to pay. The call is where I make the case for it, so you'll hear the pitch, but you won't be asked for a card.
Can our swimmers see it?
A phone-side swimmer view is designed but not built. Whether coach notes and tags are ever visible to swimmers is genuinely undecided — it's one of the things worth talking about.
Rather see it run first?
The live build is open — no sign-up, no call needed.
